REME 5 hour team race

Sunday, January 11th, 2009

Venue: Weavers down, Bordon

Result 9th overall

1st race back this year following a few weeks off, I teamed up with Ollie Moyce and we were in with a good chance of winning this as paul eddy had withdrawn from the race. Ollie started off and his new Husaberg failed to go off the line so he was last but soon caught up to 5th, His bike had further problems, running low on water, the engine management unit kept stopping the bike so we were losing a lot of time on the leaders. He came in and it was my turn, I had just rebuilt my engine with the help of Andy at Poole Motorcycles and a few tweaks only he knows, and the bike was awesome, it had so much power, better than new. We changed again and were catching the others ahead, both of us riding well, Unfortunatley when I was turning a slow speed corner my front wheel slid on some ice and the bike came down on the side of my leg, twisting it the wrong way, I felt something give way and could not carry on. Ollie finished the race, I think we were 9th but lost so much time im suprised we were that high up. Turns out I have torn the cartlidge in my knee and will be out for a few weeks. Massive thank you to my Donjoy knee braces for looking after my ligaments as i am sure they would be ruined if was not wearing them. Thanks again to Andy for sorting the bike, cant wait to ride it again, but not on the ice.
