G P ENGINEERING TROPHY
Sunday, October 5th, 2008Venue: Yatley heath, Hampshire
Result 1st expert, trophy winner
The weather forcast was really bad for this sunday and they didnt get that wrong but as usual the normandy club did a great job of running the event whatever the conditions. I was riding well and won the tests by over 10 seconds even after a few silly mistakes, the times were spot on, I had a minor drama on a tight check when some wire got tangled in my wheel which took me 5 minutes to get out and I lost 5 minutes on that check but I pushed hard and blitzed the others on the next tight check to take the win, I was dissappointed with the negative comments that were posted on net after the event as I thought the times were just right and Rob Muss, Nick and the team did a great job putting on and running that event, well done guys

Hi James. Many thanks for your Positive feed back with ref the G.P. Engineering Trophy. For the last 3 years I have been the Normandy club’s C.O.C and along with a great team of club members and Volunteer’s(including my right hand man Rob) we have tried to put on a more traditional type of event (Enduro or Hare’n'Hounds) and appreciate any type of feed back from expert, clubman or sportsman. Yes I do agree with you that there was a small amount of negative comments on the net but there was more positive from riders like yourself who enjoy the challenge of a proper run old style time-card ENDURO Yes the times were a bit tight, and the course got a bit boggy and rutted in places, but this is the same for everybody, be it clubman A - B expert or sportsman all in all it was a good days sport and it was good to see all competitor’s that finished (and some that didn’t) enjoyed the event. Good Luck for the rest of the Season. Nik.
