GBXC
Sunday, April 5th, 2009Venue: Baden Hall, Stafford
Result: 15th Pro
As with the first round of the Gbxc there was a huge entry for this round, The sun was shining and from what we could see from the car park the track looked good. Once again there was a great buzz in the paddock with everyone telling the usual stories of what they are going to do in the race (Daryl going to jump the river was the best one). The start straight was a bit of a joke really, A 20m dash into an S bend along side a river the immediate left over the bridge, and having watched the first race if you were last over the bridge you would be a good 500m behind the leaders as they went around the lake. The course was ok but full of large rocks poking through on the fast straights and other items such as drain covers etc which made it quite dangerous. Definately not one of thier better venues which is a shame because some top riders said that was enough for them and they would not ride any more of them. Ollie had a big off and seperated his shoulder which could put him out for france next week aswell so not a great weekend.
