Track n trial
Sunday, March 1st, 2009Venue: Weatherby fort, Dorchester
Result 3rd overall
The track and weather were looking perfect for this race and I think Mike was right to postpone the race from a few weeks earlier as it would have been a complete nightmare in all that snow. Back on the yz 250 for this race so when the flag dropped I was first off the line but couldnt keep Biles on his 4 stroke behind me down the long straight so dropped to second, I was following him so closely that when he overshot a corner I did too, which dropped us both back behind Phil. Still lacking a bit of confidence it took me a while to settle into the race and the off camber corners but by the end of the race my lap times were quicker and I started to reel them in, I finished three minutes off the lead and just 30 seconds from second place Phil. A good ride and Im starting to find some pace again, the bike was working well, ready for next weeks GBXC, The knee seems to be holding together dispite the snapped ACL. When I had finished the race Mike kindly let me out on the track to ride my 250f for a couple of hours, so many thanks for that, it was great to be able to train on that aswell.
