Warsop Trophy

Sunday, March 29th, 2009

Venue: Bagshot, Surrey

Result:  1st Overall, Trophy winner

I had spent Saturday in Dorset helping out at a training school with Daryl Bolter and Mike at Track n Trial so was feeling fairly prepared for this race, dispite tweaking my knee on a jump, I thought it might swell up fairly bad over night but seemed to be ok on sunday morning. When I got to the track I fitted my new Leo Vince tail pipe which I had collected from Andy at Poole mc/s last night, thanks Andy, I was on my 250 four stroke for this race and also having just got my race suspension back aswell I was keen to test it out. The flag dropped at 11am and off we went, When we came round the first lap I was third and had seen enough of the track now and made my move to the front by the end of the second lap. I pushed on fairly hard for a few laps to establish a good lead but I had no crew with me today so the lack of pit board meant I never knew how much too push, I also pitted twice, not knowing how long a tank a fuel would go on the four stroke. I won the race race by over 4 minutes which was good but I felt I could have pushed alot harder. The bike was spot on, the engine power was very useable with loads of bottom end for the hills and top end mx power for those fire roads, the suspension was perfect with the new settings and remained consistant through the race.  Big thanks to Poole mc/s for the parts. I had loads of comments about how the bike looked really good and again I can only thank Andy for giving all the trick bits to bolt onto it.  Well done to the Normandy boys, a great event once again,  Great to win the trophy again.
